D-Major/The Apologist is from Chicago. He comes from a background in rap music, performing with the rap group "Black Out" before his conversion to Christianity.
In his senior year in high school, D-Major became a devout Baptist having learned the Christian faith. However, he noticed that there was a significant difference between the Catholic Faith and the Baptist Faith and wanted to know why he was not a Catholic. After much intensive study, D-Major found that the true Christain faith, the fullness of Christianity both historically and in agreement with the Bible was the Catholic Church.
So, on Easter of 1994, D-Major became a Catholic and received his First Holy Communion.
After highschool, D-Major spent a year in college and then gave his life to God in a lay institute in the Church as a consecrated person with the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. He began to do missionary work in Mexico and there saw the need to bring Catholicism into rap - after not being able to write a rap song for four years! God confirmed His desire to have D-Major write Catholic songs by giving him a song dedicated to the love of the Blessed Virgin Mary called, "Who is She?" This song has been known to make people cry.
After getting permission from his superiors in Rome, D-Major began making his first Catholic rap album under the name Anonymous. When a demo of his album was heard by John Michael Talbot, D-Major was invited to go to Little Portion, AK to meet Talbot and become a member of CAM (Catholic Association of Musicians). There The Apologist met with encouragement and support to pursue making this album as a means to reach many youth who like rap music but are exposed to the bad lyrics of the popular secular songs. After many donations and a tremendous amount of prayer, D-Major (as Anonymous) completed his first debut mini album, Orations which has been in demand in Poland (where he has toured), Rome, Nigeria, Mexico and Canada.
His ministry, by the grace of our Lord Jesus and the intercession of His Blessed Mother, grows daily in power, reach and inspiration, promising to be one of the brightest beacons leading the youth of the new millenium to the fullness of Truth.
